Border Guards give equipment to fishermen going offshore
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to ensure safe offshore fishing activities and smooth communication for fishermen, the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard has presented equipment to fishermen with a total value of nearly 100 million VND.

The award ceremony took place on the morning of July 14 at Lach Quen port (Quynh Luu district).
Nghe An Provincial Border Guard presented equipment to 70 vehicle owners in 7 communes of Quynh Luu district including Tien Thuy, Quynh Nghia, Quynh Thuan, Quynh Long, Son Hai, Quynh Tho, An Hoa. The equipment includes 2 ICOM communication sets, 79 life jackets, 36 life buoys, 17 fire extinguishers, 70 national flags; with a total value of nearly 100 million VND.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Colonel Tran Minh Cong - Deputy Political Commissar of the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command hoped that the equipment would support fishermen when fishing far from shore, ensuring smooth communication and handling risks during fishing; at the same time, encouraging fishermen to feel secure in going offshore, contributing to protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland./.
