Vietnam Border Guards coordinated with Hua Phan Provincial Police (Laos) to seize 116 kg of heroin.
On October 17, Mr. Bui Hong Tai, Commander of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command, said that he had just coordinated with the Son La Provincial Border Guard and the Hua Phan Provincial Police (Laos) to arrest a case of transporting and storing a large quantity of illegal drugs in Sam Neua town (Hua Phan province).
Authorities from Thanh Hoa, Son La and Hua Phan provinces caught Thao Xay Vang (49 years old) and Nang Da Ly (45 years old) in the act, residing in Na Poong Bua village, Sam Neua town, Hua Phan province, while they were illegally transporting 1kg of opium.
Evidence of the case
During an urgent search of the residence of the two subjects at No. 215, Zone 6, Sam Neua Town, Hua Phan Province, the authorities seized 116 kg of white powder (Thao Xay Vang declared it was heroin); 1 heroin pressing machine, production tools and chemicals for drug preparation; 4,400 USD; 170,000 Lao kip; 2 flintlock guns; 2 grenades.
Thao Xay Vang and Nang Da Ly confessed that the drug source was from U Dom Xay (Laos), and they were trying to connect with other people to bring it to Vietnam for consumption.
Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard is coordinating with the Border Guard, Son La Provincial Police and Hua Phan Provincial Police to expand the investigation of the case.
