Truong Sa soldiers rescue fishermen in distress

During the past week, Navy forces organized three rescue missions for fishermen in distress at sea.

Most recently, on March 23, the Song Tu Tay Island Commune Infirmary, Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province received patient Le Ba Quoc, 25 years old, from Hoai Nhon District, Binh Dinh Province, crew member of ship BD 96614TS.The patient had a severed left foot and the entire soft tissue of his left leg from the knee down was torn off due to the net being pulled around his leg.

Thanks to timely emergency treatment by the island's military medics, patient Le Ba Quoc regained consciousness on March 24. However, because the patient had lost a lot of blood, soldiers from Song Tu Tay Island with blood type O - the same blood type as the patient - were ready to donate blood when needed.

Previously, on March 15, Song Tu Tay Island Commune Infirmary also received patient Pham Van Xiem, 45 years old, from Hoai Thanh, Hoai Nhon District, Binh Dinh Province, a fisherman on the BD 95232TS boat. Diagnosing that patient Xiem had a perforated ulcer in the front of the gastric antrum, with a high risk of death, the island's military medical staff performed emergency surgery on the patient.

Although his life was at a critical point, thanks to timely treatment, on March 19, patient Pham Van Xiem's ​​health improved and he was transferred to the mainland by helicopter for continued treatment.


At Son Ca Island, Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province, they are also receiving and treating patient Vo Van Long, 19 years old, from Binh Chanh, Binh Son District, Quang Ngai Province, a fisherman on the QNg 90181 boat, who suffered from decompression due to deep diving. The patient's health is currently stable./.
