Ministry of Education and Training posthumously awarded Certificate of Merit to Nguyen Sy Phuc

(Baonghean.vn) -In recognition and praise of the bravery and sacrifice of Nguyen Sy Phuc, a 12th grade student of Nghi Loc 2 High School, for saving people, the Ministry of Education and Training signed Decision No. 4503 to posthumously award a Certificate of Merit to Phuc and support his family with 10 million VND.

Authorized by the Minister of Education and Training, on the afternoon of November 13, Mr. Le Van Ngo - Director of the Department of Education and Training, together with leaders, specialists of departments and the Board of Directors of Nghi Loc 2 High School, went to Hamlet 9 - Nghi Cong Bac Commune (Nghi Loc District) to present a Certificate of Merit and bonus to Phuc's family. Witnessing the awarding ceremony were representatives of the Party Committee and the government of Nghi Cong Bac Commune.

Mr. Le Van Ngo - Director of the Department of Education and Training placed a certificate of merit on the altar of Nguyen Sy Phuc.

During the flood from September 19 to 20, 2013, in Nghe An province, there were many accidents caused by being swept away by floodwaters, causing loss of life and property. At 1:30 p.m. on September 20, 2013, at the spillway between Nghi My and Nghi Cong Bac communes, Nghi Loc district, Nguyen Sy Phuc, a 12C5 student of Nghi Loc 2 High School, bravely saved two people from drowning and he died.

Phuc's brave action was posthumously awarded the Brave Youth Badge by the Central Youth Union and a certificate of merit by the Provincial People's Committee. Along with the posthumous award of the certificate of merit, the Ministry of Education and Training launched a campaign throughout the sector to emulate the bravery of Nguyen Sy Phuc.
