The new highlights of the draft are that student assessment is carried out regularly and with the participation of both students and parents, teachers must commit to and deliver the quality of education...

According to the Director of the Department of Primary Education (Ministry of Education and Training) Pham Ngoc Dinh, the draft is built on the principle of assessment for students' progress, focusing on motivating and encouraging positivity and overcoming difficulties in learning and training; helping students to develop their full potential; ensuring timeliness, fairness and objectivity. This new regulation aims to comprehensively assess students through assessing the level of knowledge, skills and some manifestations of students' abilities and qualities according to the primary education goals; Combining assessments of teachers, students and parents, in which teachers' assessments are the most important; Assessing students' progress, not comparing one student with another, not creating pressure on students, teachers and parents.

Specifically, for teachers, based on the characteristics and objectives of the lesson, of each activity that students must perform in the lesson, they will regularly observe, monitor, dialogue, interview, check the progress of performing tasks and products of students and groups of students according to the lesson progress. Comment and give direct verbal comments to students or write comments on student's sheets and notebooks about the content that has been done or not done for each student and group of students; level of knowledge understanding; ability to perform operations...

Teachers must point out the causes and specific measures to help students overcome difficulties and complete tasks in the learning process for students who have not performed correctly or have not met requirements; Pay attention to the progress of completing learning tasks in the lesson of students, accept the difference in time and level of completion.

As for students, they can self-evaluate during or after performing each subject learning task and educational activity, and report the results to the teacher; students participate in commenting and giving suggestions to friends and groups of friends during the process of performing subject learning tasks and educational activities; discuss, guide, and help friends complete the tasks.

As for parents, they will be guided by teachers to observe students studying, participating in educational activities or participating in learning activities, educational activities with students, observing the application of knowledge in students' daily lives, giving comments, assessments, and evaluating students verbally directly to teachers or writing on evaluation forms or contact books, coordinating with teachers and schools to encourage and help students study and practice.

According to the new draft, the classification of primary school students will be assessed according to levels such as completed or incomplete, achieved or not achieved... For students who have not completed the class program, teachers must make plans, directly guide and help each student; and conduct additional assessments to consider completion of the class program.

In particular, to ensure that student assessment is objective and honest, the new draft provides regulations on commitment and handover of educational quality to enhance the role and responsibility of teachers; so that teachers who will receive classes in the next school year will have full necessary information about the learning process and results, the level of formation and development of some students' abilities and qualities in order to have effective educational plans and measures./.
