Ministry of Education changes university and college admissions method
The Ministry of Education and Training said it will provide common admission software for universities and colleges. However, the choice of whether to use it or not is up to the schools.
In recent days, information that the Ministry of Education and Training has changed the university and college admissions method as the national high school exam day is approaching has made many candidates and parents worried.
On the afternoon of May 12, the Ministry of Education announced that it would provide common software for many universities and colleges for candidates to register for admission. This software will automatically filter successful candidates, then provide data back to the schools.
According to the Ministry of Education, this software is similar to the software of the school groups that Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Danang University plan to use.

The Ministry affirmed that this is only a technical solution to support the implementation of better admission regulations, minimize virtual candidates, help schools grasp the whole picture of the admission process, and from there decide on the most suitable list of admitted candidates. As for how to use the results, it is up to the schools to decide.
According to the Ministry of Education, enrollment is the autonomy of schools, so shared software is for schools to choose, not mandatory participation. And this is purely a technical factor, not affecting candidates.
Previously, the Ministry of Education said that this year there is a new point in university and college admissions: the emergence of admission groups to support each other and increase the chances of admission for candidates. At the end of April, in addition to the group of schools chaired by Hanoi University of Science and Technology (with 11 participating schools), the Ministry also issued an official dispatch agreeing to allow Da Nang University to chair group admissions.
At that time, the Ministry said it was encouraging universities in the South and Ho Chi Minh City to form admission groups. The Ministry had contacted Ho Chi Minh City National University to form the group, and the schools there were also doing so. In the near future, if the schools form groups, they will report back to the Ministry.
