With the admission method, the basis for admission is the training results and learning results of the years of the general education program at the junior high school level or the regular education program at the junior high school level of the student. If a grade is repeated, the results of the repeated year of that grade will be used.

With the entrance exam method, the number of subjects is 3, including Math, Literature and 1 subject randomly drawn by the Department of Education and Training from the remaining subjects in the general education program at the junior high school level. The third subject is announced before March 31 every year. For admission to specialized high schools, each specialized subject has 1 additional specialized subject.
Regarding duration, Literature exam lasts 120 minutes, Math exam lasts 90 minutes, the remaining exams are no more than 90 minutes, and specialized exams are 150 minutes.
The exam content is based on the general secondary education program, mainly the grade 9 program. Each specialized subject is tested with a separate exam according to the subject program in the general secondary education program. The exam ensures the selection of students with aptitude for that specialized subject.
