Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed her view that each country has the right to develop its own domestic, foreign, economic and cultural policies. Therefore, the Russian diplomat advised the US to focus on solving internal problems before interfering in the affairs of other countries.
"Now is the time for the US State Department, the White House, and all other institutions to work hard to overcome the deepest internal divisions in the country, not to constantly give advice to other countries," said Maria Zakharova.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman also stressed that the US can “live as it wants”, but only within its own borders. Therefore, according to Ms. Zakharova, critical comments from US politicians against other countries are essentially “hypocritical”.
The all-Russian vote on constitutional amendments took place from June 25, and ended on the official holiday on July 1.
According to the report of the Central Election Commission of Russia, 77.92% supported the amendment.
Immediately after, President Vladimir Putin gave a speech thanking the Russian people for approving the constitutional amendments, and considered them as the foundation for building a strong political system and economy, consolidating the country. Moreover, the government needs to make every effort to respond to the people's trust.
Regarding the votes against the constitutional amendments, President Putin expressed his understanding, because in reality there are still many unresolved issues; at the same time, he considered this as a motivation to act faster, more accurately, more effectively, bringing a different life to the people.
