Ministry of Foreign Affairs donates 100 million VND to the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Nghe An province
In the program of activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the Regional Reporters Conference on “International integration for sustainable development, the role of localities”, on the morning of July 11, Comrade Bui Thanh Son - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs went to the Department of Foreign Affairs to present gifts to the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of the province. Also attending were Comrade Le Xuan Dai, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and the Association of Victims of Agent Orange.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Comrade Bui Thanh Son reported on the outstanding activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in recent times in overcoming the consequences of Agent Orange, which are the struggle combined with lobbying the US Government and Congress to contribute to overcoming the consequences of the war; supporting the Association of Agent Orange Victims in the lawsuit against US chemical companies that produced Agent Orange/dioxin for use in Vietnam; and mobilizing international public opinion in this struggle.

Deputy Minister Bui Thanh Son presented donations to the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.
The total amount of VND 100,000,000 that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented to the Nghe An Province Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims this time is a contribution of one day's salary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' staff, overseas Vietnamese and international friends in response to the call for Action for Agent Orange victims in Vietnam launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The entire amount will be transferred to the victims by the Provincial Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam, August 10, 2013.
