Appointment of Political Commissar of Cyber Warfare Command
The Prime Minister has just issued a decision to appoint the Political Commissar of the Cyber Warfare Command, Ministry of National Defense.
Specifically, the Prime Minister appointed Major General Nguyen Minh Thang, Deputy Commissar of the Military Technical Academy, to hold the position of Commissar of the Cyber Warfare Command, Ministry of National Defense.

In 2017, the Prime Minister decided to establish the Cyber Warfare Command under the Ministry of National Defense (codenamed Command 86) on the basis of reorganizing the Information Technology Department under the General Staff.
The Cyber Warfare Command is the focal unit, assisting the Ministry of National Defense in performing the state management function of protecting national sovereignty in cyberspace and information technology throughout the army.
The Cyber Warfare Command plays a core role in protecting the Fatherland in cyberspace, is an important force participating in ensuring national cyberspace security and safety, fighting against high-tech crimes and "peaceful evolution"... contributing with the entire Party, people and army to firmly protect the independence and sovereignty of the Fatherland on land, in the air, at sea and in cyberspace./.
