Which part of the body ages the fastest?

Thinking about aging is one of the main stressors for many people. And if you are one of them, protect yourself.

Your head actually ages faster than the rest of your body on a nanosecond level (90 billion seconds in 79 years), and the difference is not easily noticeable in the conventional sense.

This happens because of Einstein's theory of relativity, which has been proven by scientists: The speed of time depends on how fast you move and how close you are to a gravitational field. For example, your circadian rhythm will speed up when you live at higher altitudes.

Researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) wanted to test this theory, so they used an atomic clock that ticked one millionth of a billionth of a second. When they raised the clock to about a third of a meter, it also ran faster because of the reduced gravitational pull.

Therefore, scientists deduce that there is a difference in the aging rate between the legs and the head, so the head will be the fastest aging part of the body.

NIST believes the discovery could have real-world applications in geophysics. And if you’re worried about your face aging faster, adopt these daily habits to look younger.
