Ministry of National Defense - Ministry of Public Security: Online meeting on coordination work to ensure security and order
(Baonghean.vn) – Today, January 10, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense held an online meeting with 63 provinces and cities on coordinating the implementation of tasks to protect national security and social order and safety in the new situation according to Decree No. 77/2010/ND-CP).

In Nghe An, Colonel Nguyen Sy Hoi - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command and Colonel Tran Danh Phieng - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police chaired the conference.
According to the assessment of the two Ministries, there are 8 areas of work in the coordination of the implementation of Decree 77 of the Prime Minister on security and order protection between the two forces of the Public Security and the Army. Regarding staff work, the two sides have coordinated to develop and implement well plans and projects to ensure security and order in localities, especially the coordination of protecting activities of major national holidays and important political events of the country. The work of exchanging information and coordinating information inspection has increasingly gone into depth. The coordination is also clearly demonstrated in areas such as mass mobilization, State management of security and order, drafting legal documents, internal protection... contributing to promptly resolving complicated issues of security and order, maintaining political stability, social order and safety and economic development, maintaining the trust of Party committees and authorities at all levels.
Many reports from the delegates clearly stated the advisory role of the police and military forces to local leaders in ensuring national defense and security, patrolling and protecting the border, and reducing poverty in remote areas... In Nghe An, the close coordination in ensuring security and order between the police and military forces has been effectively implemented. Particularly in the fight against crime, the police and military forces have discovered and arrested 760 drug cases, including many major drug cases, 815 drug criminals, seized 5,850g of heroin, 7,747 synthetic drug pills, 18kg of marijuana, 19g of crystal meth, 2 grenades, 1 carbine gun, 29 bullets, 1 flintlock gun, 488 million VND, 13,400 USD. Attacked and raided 12 criminal groups illegally trading in drugs on the border. Effectively coordinate in the fight against crime and carry out the National Defense - Security tasks with the Police and Military of Lao provinces sharing the border, ensuring security and order on the Vietnam - Laos border. Regularly do a good job of professional training, combat readiness for the forces under its sector and achieve many important results, contributing to the good implementation of the National Defense - Security tasks in the locality.
Concluding the conference, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense agreed that in 2012, they will regularly exchange information to advise all levels of government on national security and defense and social order and safety; review and supplement specific plans and strategies, closely and effectively coordinate in the fight against all types of crime, especially high-tech crimes, crimes involving foreign elements, drug crimes, human trafficking, smuggling at sea and on land; strengthen training, coaching, and rehearsal of coordination plans between the Police and the Army.
