The Ministry of Finance said that since the beginning of 2014, gasoline prices have been adjusted up 5 times and down 8 times; diesel prices have been adjusted up 4 times and down 15 times, but transportation fees have not decreased accordingly, causing many opinions in public opinion.

Specifically, the Ministry of Transport presides over and coordinates with ministries, branches, and localities to direct the Department of Transport, functional agencies, and transport enterprises to strictly comply with regulations on transport management and transport fares.
The implementation of fare declaration and posting of transport fares according to regulations needs to be strengthened and violations should be strictly handled. Transport enterprises should recalculate costs and re-declare fares in accordance with fluctuations in fuel costs and input prices.
People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities direct transport units to strictly comply with regulations on transport fare management.
The Department of Transport coordinates with the Department of Finance and the Tax Department to inspect transport enterprises and review declared transport fares.
In case the fluctuation of fuel costs affects the reduction of transportation costs, enterprises are required to calculate costs and re-declare fares in accordance with the decrease in fuel costs (especially those enterprises that declared increased fares at the time of fuel price increase in 2014); guide and inspect the implementation of price declaration, posting of transportation fares and collection of fares in accordance with regulations; strictly handle violations in accordance with the provisions of law and publicly announce them on mass media.
