Ministry of Finance requests no increase in gasoline prices

To help stabilize prices during the Lunar New Year, the Ministry of Finance requires businesses to continue not to calculate profit margins for gasoline and kerosene. At the same time, keep the selling price of these products stable.

The Ministry of Finance has just sent a document to key petroleum trading enterprises.

Accordingly, based on the recent developments in world oil prices; based on the principles of calculating base prices according to the provisions of Decree No. 84/2009/ND-CP, Circular No. 234/2009/TT-BTC, the difference between the current selling price and the average base price of 30 days from December 16, 2013 to January 14, 2014 of all oil products is currently different.

Accordingly, the current selling price of RON 92 gasoline is 605 VND/liter lower than the base price; the current selling price of 0.05S diesel is 52 VND/liter lower than the base price; the current selling price of kerosene is 849 VND/liter lower than the base price and the current selling price of mazut is 253 VND/liter lower than the base price.

Based on the difference between the current selling price and the base price calculated above, in order to harmoniously share the interests of consumers, businesses and the State, after agreeing with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance requires key petroleum trading enterprises to maintain stable selling prices; import tax rates, and the level of deductions from the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products as at present.

At the same time, to contribute to price stabilization during the Lunar New Year, businesses are required to continue not to calculate the standard profit for gasoline and kerosene products; and not to calculate the full standard profit for diesel products.

Regarding the Price Stabilization Fund, stop using the Price Stabilization Fund for diesel oil, from 100 VND/liter to 0 VND/liter; Reduce the use of the Price Stabilization Fund for kerosene, from 890 VND/liter to 520 VND/liter (reduction of 370 VND/liter).

Regarding the standard profit, restore the standard profit of 250 VND/liter for diesel oil (from 0 VND/liter to 250 VND/liter).

Implementation time, applicable from 14:00 on January 15, 2014.
