(Baonghean.vn) -On December 10-12, a working delegation of the General Staff (GGS) led by Major General Nguyen Kim Son, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the GGS, inspected two border patrol road projects in Nghe An.

The working delegation visited the border patrol road projects in Na Ngoi commune - L8-L10 markers and Muong Tip commune - L10-L11 markers (Ky Son district). The patrol road on the Vietnam - Laos border is built with concrete, serving the people's needs well.

According to the report of the Border Patrol Road Project Management Board (Project 47, BTTM), up to now, the Muong Tip route to landmark L8-L10 with a length of more than 43km, which started construction in 2009, has basically completed the roadbed and 3 bridges on the route, completed 7km of concrete, and is continuing to build the foundation and road surface. The Na Ngoi route to landmark L10-L11 with a length of nearly 35km, started construction in late 2010, has completed the roadbed and works on the route of 11.5km; 23km is focusing on building the roadbed and 3 bridges. Although there are still many problems with land acquisition procedures, due to the urgent nature of the routes, Project Management Board 47 has actively and proactively requested the People's Committee of Nghe An province to apply the procedures, allowing construction to be carried out in parallel with site preparation. Major General Hoang Kien, Director of the Border Patrol Road Project Management Board, affirmed: In 2014, two patrol routes across the "roof" of Truong Son will be completed.

Major General Nguyen Kim Son praised the efforts of the officers and soldiers who opened the road at the two projects considered the most difficult at present on the entire border patrol route. To achieve progress, the Project Management Board has been creative, actively applying and removing shortcomings in the mechanism. Major General Nguyen Kim Son also said that he will make recommendations for the functional branches to pay more attention to the military rank ceiling for officers constructing border patrol roads in remote areas and the military rear policy, especially the housing policy for officers of Project Management Board 47...

To improve the efficiency of the route and meet the urgent requirements of border management and protection, Project Management Board 47 has proposed to the Government, the Ministry of National Defense and relevant agencies to extend the two routes to Tam Hop border gate, landmark M2 (about 28km), Tuong Duong district without increasing funding.
