Minister of Education and Training posthumously awarded Certificate of Merit to Nguyen Van Nam
After receiving a report from the Nghe An Department of Education and Training about Nguyen Van Nam (a 12th grade student at Do Luong 1 High School, Nghe An Province) who bravely and selflessly jumped into the Lam River to save 5 junior high school students from drowning, but died due to exhaustion, the Minister of Education and Training decided to posthumously award a Certificate of Merit to Nguyen Van Nam along with 20 million VND.
(Baonghean.vn) -After receiving a report from the Nghe An Department of Education and Training about Nguyen Van Nam (a 12th grade student at Do Luong 1 High School, Nghe An Province) who bravely and selflessly jumped into the Lam River to save 5 junior high school students from drowning, but died due to exhaustion, the Minister of Education and Training decided to posthumously award a Certificate of Merit to Nguyen Van Nam along with 20 million VND.
On May 5, authorized by Minister Pham Vu Luan, Mr. Ngu Duy Anh - Director of the Department of Student Affairs, Ministry of Education and Training, presented a Certificate of Merit along with a bonus of 20 million VND to Nguyen Van Nam through his family in Trung Son commune, Do Luong district. Also attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Van Ngo, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An, representatives of the People's Committee of Do Luong district and leaders of Do Luong 1 High School.
After the Certificate of Merit ceremony, Mr. Ta Duy Anh conveyed the condolences and encouragement of Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan to Nam's parents and relatives and hoped that everyone in the family would try to overcome this pain and loss. Mr. Ngu Duy Anh also requested the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An to coordinate with the Youth Union to launch a campaign for teenagers and students to learn from the example of Nguyen Van Nam's selfless act of saving a victim.
