In Cua Lo town, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat and the working delegation directly inspected the work of storm and flood prevention and plans to evacuate people when the storm makes landfall. Up to now, 100% of Cua Lo fishermen's boats have safely docked at ports and docks. Checking at Cua Lo Port, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat noted that port leaders need to proactively protect the safety of the wharf system, cargo ships anchored at the port, especially for high-altitude cranes, must be careful when the storm makes landfall.



Minister inspects storm prevention situation of Cua Lo fishermen

In Dien Chau district, by noon today, all 1,500 fishing boats had returned to shelters, and the estuaries and anchorages were all secured and secured by the people. Inspecting the sea dike system, Minister Cao Duc Phat highly appreciated the efforts of the province and district in building this system. He noted that Dien Chau district needs to have a plan to plant trees to block waves outside the dike to protect the safety of the dike, especially during storms.

In Quynh Luu district, the locality with the largest number of fishing boats in the province, by noon today, 2,059 fishing boats had returned to ports and moored safely. Currently, 34 other boats are on their way to shelters. The district has directed communes to organize forces to help fishermen anchor their boats safely, avoiding damage caused by storms. In addition, Quynh Luu district has also deployed evacuation plans when necessary. Thus, up to this point, the work of preventing storm No. 8 in Nghe An has been carried out very drastically.



Minister inspects sea dike in Dien Chau district

To cope with storm No. 8, Nghe An province has deployed specific plans to districts and cities. The organization called on fishing boats operating at sea to return to safe shelters. For irrigation works, dams and reservoirs, people are assigned to be on duty 24/24 hours, along with necessary materials for flood and storm prevention. Implement plans to protect crops, livestock and aquaculture areas for the safety of people.

After the inspection, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat assessed: Up to now, Nghe An has promptly deployed and actively and urgently implemented the work of preventing storm No. 8 in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister and the Central Committee for Flood and Storm Control on measures to cope with this storm. The Minister said that although the storm may not make landfall in Nghe An, before the storm arrives, the province must call on all boats to come ashore and check residential areas in unsafe areas to have an evacuation plan.

With the spirit of timely response to storm No. 8, Nghe An will be proactive and minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
