(Baonghean)-On the afternoon of March 17, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, Member of the Party Central Committee - Minister of Health, and the working delegation continued to visit and work at the Central Dermatology and Leprosy Hospital in Quynh Lap commune, Hoang Mai town.
Accompanying the delegation were comrade Dinh Le Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of a number of relevant departments and branches.

Quynh Lap Leprosy and Dermatology Hospital has a 57-year history of establishment and development. In addition to treating leprosy and dermatological diseases for 224 leprosy and dermatological patients, of which 181 patients are partially treated and 43 patients are comprehensively cared for; it is assigned to receive leprosy patients from 6 provinces in the Northern region. Recently, the Hospital has also received and examined and treated people in the Northern Nghe An and Southern Thanh Hoa areas. Currently, the Hospital has 272 staff members, including 35 doctors divided into 13 departments and 7 rooms, the material conditions for medical examination and treatment are still difficult; low income makes it difficult to retain highly qualified doctors and limits training and development.

After listening to the hospital leaders report on the situation and medical examination and treatment capacity of the hospital; the Minister spoke to acknowledge the efforts of the medical staff to overcome difficulties; hoped that the medical staff would uphold their tradition, along with taking care of leprosy patients, they must continue to propagate so that people understand and share with leprosy patients. On the basis of good treatment for dermatological leprosy patients, the hospital needs to improve its examination; constantly study and improve its expertise and skills to effectively examine and treat other diseases for people in the area.

On the occasion of his visit to the Hospital, the Minister planted a souvenir tree at the Hospital, visited and presented gifts to patients being treated at Facility 2 in Quynh Lap Commune; and burned incense at the Memorial to the victims of leprosy patients who died due to US bombing in 1965.
