Minister of Education and Training reports on the 2015 national high school graduation exam

The Minister said: “The exam papers have been printed and are absolutely confidential. The entire political system is involved in helping the education sector organize this exam.”

On the morning of June 29, reporting at the online Government meeting with localities, on the 2015 National High School Graduation Exam, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan said: nationwide there were 1,004,484 candidates taking the exam. Of which, the total number of candidates registered to take the exam only for graduation was 279,001 candidates, the total number of candidates taking the exam with two purposes of both graduation and university and college admission was 592,934. The remaining total number of independent candidates, who graduated from high school in previous years, only registered to take the exam to use the results for university admission was 132,552 candidates.

Nationwide, there are 38 clusters chaired by universities, and 61 exam clusters chaired by local Departments of Education and Training.

“Up to this point, all work has been completed. The exam papers have been printed, ensuring absolute confidentiality and security. We are preparing for this year’s exam with serious consideration of the contributions of experts and teachers,” said the Minister.

Teachers assigned to the task have been trained in coordination plans. During the implementation process, the education sector has received great and effective support from local authorities from the province to the commune and ward levels. The entire political system has participated in helping the education sector implement this exam. In many provinces, the Provincial Party Secretary personally inspected the exam preparation work. Many Provincial Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of provinces and cities participated in the inspection and gave instructions.

Political organizations, unions, local people, and many organizations have raised money to support ethnic minority and disadvantaged students. Localities have organized free accommodation, buses, and free meals for the children.

“On behalf of the education sector of the whole country, I would like to thank the whole country for their great support and encouragement. All the work has been carried out according to plan. After this meeting, the Minister and Deputy Ministers of Education and Training will visit the localities where the exam is being held for the first time to check if there are any issues that need to be reviewed,” said Minister Pham Vu Luan./.
