Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh visits Qatar

At the invitation of Qatari Foreign Minister Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jabor Al-Thani, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh paid an official visit to Qatar on March 24, 2013.

Also attending were Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thanh Hoa and representatives of several Vietnamese enterprises.

During his visit to Qatar, Minister Pham Binh Minh held talks with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jabor Al-Thani, paid a courtesy call on Crown Prince Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, met with Minister of Social Affairs and Acting Minister of Labor Nasir al-Humaydi, and Minister of Business and Trade, Co-Chair of the Qatar Section of the Vietnam-Qatar Intergovernmental Committee Jasim bin Abd al-Aziz bin Jasim Al Thani.

Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and representatives of Vietnamese enterprises also had working sessions with Qatari partners.

At the talks and meetings, Minister Pham Binh Minh conveyed the greetings of Vietnam's senior leaders to the King and leaders of Qatar, affirming that Vietnam always values ​​and wishes to develop multifaceted cooperation with Qatar.

The Crown Prince and the leaders of Qatar welcomed the visit of Minister Pham Binh Minh, expressed satisfaction with the encouraging development of the relationship between the two countries in recent times and said that the King and the Government of Qatar are very interested in promoting cooperation with Vietnam. The two sides discussed measures to further enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries and agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels; closely coordinate and support each other at international and regional forums; promote cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, labor, etc.

The two sides agreed that it is necessary to soon organize the first meeting of the Vietnam-Qatar Intergovernmental Committee to perfect the legal framework and outline directions for cooperation in many fields in the coming time.

Qatar expressed its desire to increase investment in projects in Vietnam that are in line with the interests of both sides; affirmed its readiness to create favorable conditions to receive more Vietnamese workers to work in Qatar.

Qatar also suggested that businesses of the two countries should increase contact and regularly exchange information to seek business opportunities, contributing to promoting economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries./.
