Ukrainian Defense Minister Announces Continued Attack on Crimea Bridge

Sharing with CNN, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksei Reznikov said that destroying the Crimean bridge means destroying Russia's logistics lines, cutting off supplies of ammunition, fuel, and food, which is a common tactic.
On the night of July 17, two Ukrainian drones attacked the Crimean bridge, killing two adults and injuring a child. President Putin accused Kiev of being behind the attack. The Russian leader asserted that this was an unjustified crime from a military point of view, since the Crimean bridge has long been used for civilian purposes.
Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, also confirmed on July 17 that unmanned vessels (USVs) were used to attack the Crimea Bridge, also known as the Kerch Bridge, connecting mainland Russia with the peninsula, causing severe damage to a span of the bridge.
Since its inauguration in April 2018, the Crimean Bridge has become a symbol of the identity and power of Russia in general and President Vladimir Putin in particular. For Russia, the bridge has also become an important checkpoint between the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, a vital link in the rear line for Russia to bring forces, weapons, fuel, and ammunition to serve the attack on southern Ukraine.
Therefore, President Putin always emphasizes that the Crimea bridge is a "red line" for Russia, and any attempt to attack this area will face a proportionate response.
