Navy Command donates gratitude houses to war invalids in Nam Dan
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 19, the Navy Command, Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Xuan Hoa commune (Nam Dan) and the Association of Veterans of Naval Special Forces Brigade 126 in Nghe - Tinh region organized the handover of a House of Gratitude to Navy Special Forces Veteran Nguyen Le Tich, a 2/4 Disabled Veteran currently living in Hamlet 5, Xuan Hoa commune.
Attending the ribbon cutting and house handover ceremony were Colonel Mai The Hoat - Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 1 Command; Representatives of the leadership of Squadron 137, Nam Dan district and the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Xuan Hoa commune.
Comrade Nguyen Le Tich is a 2/4 Disabled Veteran, formerly a soldier of the 216th Naval Special Forces Brigade, assigned to be a water special forces training instructor and directly participated in the B battlefield, fighting to liberate the Truong Sa archipelago. In April 1975, during the battle, Comrade Tich was seriously injured and had to transfer to another job.

From 1969 to 1982, participating in combat and working in the military environment, he was awarded the First Class Glorious Soldier Medal and the Certificate of Bravery in Killing the Americans by the Party and the State. After being demobilized and returning to his hometown, his family still lives in a dilapidated level 4 house.
With the attention of the leaders of the Navy Command, the Association of Veterans of the 126th Naval Special Brigade in Nghe - Tinh region and Xuan Hoa commune, after 4 months of active construction, the house worth over 300 million VND was completed and handed over to the family of War Invalids Nguyen Le Tich on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday on May 19.
Of that, 70 million VND was taken from the "Repaying gratitude" fund of Naval Region 1. The 137th Squadron of Region 1 was assigned to carry out the construction, Xuan Hoa commune supported 1 ton of cement, the rest was from the family's funding.

This is one of the charity and social security activities regularly organized by the Navy Command and the Veterans' Tradition Association of the 126th Naval Special Forces Brigade in Nghe Tinh region to support families of veterans who do not have the conditions to build solid houses to live in.
