With a solid foundation from the previous term and the consensus of cadres, party members and people, the Party Committee of Nam Dan commune (Nghe An) has entered a new phase with the goal of building a model new rural commune with comprehensive and sustainable development.
The economy is improving, the face of the countryside is changing
Coming to Nam Dan commune, I heard the people here highly appreciate the urgent working spirit of the staff and civil servants following the 2-level government "machine", which is truly effective, efficient, close to the people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Chinh, in Trang Den hamlet, shared: “The cadres and civil servants are enthusiastic, cheerful, and friendly. We, the people, have great faith in the cadres, so that together with the people, we can make our homeland stronger and more prosperous.”

Cadres, party members and people of the commune focus their intelligence, contribute ideas to the draft documents of the Party Congress at all levels with the spirit, determination and will to make a breakthrough for the coming journey.
The Party Committee of Nam Dan commune was established on the basis of arranging and merging the Party Committees of 3 communes: Nam Hung, Nghia Thai, Nam Thanh, formerly belonging to Nam Dan district. The Party Committee has 1,193 members, operating in 41 affiliated grassroots party organizations.
In the 2020-2025 term, the growth rate of total product value in Nam Dan commune reached an average of 9.6%/year. The average income by 2025 is estimated to reach nearly 71 million VND/person/year. The total social investment capital in the past 5 years reached more than 511 billion VND.
The economic structure of the commune has a positive shift. If at the beginning of the term, agriculture - forestry - fishery accounted for 45.9%, by 2025 it would decrease to 36.6%. Industry - construction and services increased by 29.5% and 33.9% respectively; in the commune there are currently 41 enterprises operating in multiple fields; 8 cooperatives and 15 OCOP products.
In agriculture, along with promoting the application of science and technology on rice; the locality focuses on shifting the development of specialty plants and animals. The whole commune has 25 new rural standard gardens and farmer model gardens, with annual income ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of VND per garden. There are 6 farms that meet the criteria of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
“That change not only reflects the effectiveness of development policies, but also shows that Nam Dan is exploiting its advantages well, both maintaining its strength in agricultural production and expanding the processing industry, trade services, and tourism.
"Transportation, irrigation and commercial infrastructure have been invested in and upgraded synchronously, connecting tourist spots and expanding development space. In particular, the irrigation system meets proactive irrigation for over 90% of the production area, contributing to improving crop productivity," said Mr. Hoang Nghia Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Commune People's Committee.

A bright spot in the past term is the joint efforts, unanimity, "Party's will, people's heart" in harmony to achieve the goal of building new rural areas.
In the 4 communes before the merger, 2 old communes, Nam Nghia and Nam Thanh, met the model new rural standards and 2 old communes, Nam Hung and Nam Thai, met the advanced new rural standards.
The results are evidence of the synchronous development and increasing improvement of rural infrastructure and the material and spiritual life of the people. Cultural, artistic and sports activities take place vigorously, creating new vitality for the homeland.
In the commune, there are currently 10/10 schools meeting national standards; of which 8 schools meet national standards level II; 4/4 medical stations have invested in upgrading facilities and equipment, well meeting the health care needs of the people.
Political security is maintained, social order and safety are ensured, creating a stable environment for the development of the homeland.
Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Dan Commune, Hoang Nghia Hung, added: "Many lessons have been drawn to continue to apply in the new term. To realize the above common goal, the Party Committee of Nam Dan commune sets out 32 main targets in 5 areas: Economy, culture - society, national defense - security, Party building and political system. At the same time, there are 5 groups of key tasks and 6 groups of main solutions, along with 2 breakthroughs.
In which, the 5 key tasks are summarized as: Building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system; a streamlined political system that operates effectively and efficiently; and a team of cadres with sufficient qualities, capacity, and prestige to meet task requirements.
