A delegation from the 4th Military Region Command, led by Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh - Commander of the Military Region, recently visited and extended Christmas greetings to the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Office in 2024.

We highly appreciate the contributions and encouragement of the Bishop and priests, the Pastoral Councils of parishes and sub-parishes, and the Catholic community in the Vinh Diocese, who have successfully implemented patriotic emulation movements, helped each other develop socio-economic conditions, eradicated poverty, prevented and mitigated the consequences of natural disasters, and built advanced parishes and sub-parishes, and exemplary Catholic families.

The Command of Military Region 4 hopes that the Bishop and priests, and the pastoral councils of parishes and sub-parishes will continue to encourage the people in the Diocese to effectively implement the Party's guidelines, policies, and the State's laws; to uphold the tradition of patriotism, to be closely connected with the nation, and to live "a good life and a beautiful faith." They should actively participate in patriotic emulation movements; social activities and charitable and humanitarian work, poverty alleviation, and contribute to the socio-economic development of localities within the Diocese.
Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long thanked the Command of Military Region 4 for their attention, visit, and congratulations to the Bishopric on the occasion of Christmas, and also congratulated the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army in general, and the armed forces of Military Region 4 in particular, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.
The Bishop of Vinh Diocese affirmed that Catholic compatriots, particularly those in Vinh Diocese, always remember the contributions and sacrifices of the Vietnam People's Army and the armed forces of Military Region 4 to the cause of national construction and defense, and the protection of peaceful lives for the people. In the coming time, the Vinh Diocese Bishopric will continue to coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, and people to work together to build a peaceful and prosperous social life in the spirit of "Living a good life and practicing good faith," and "A good Catholic is also a good citizen."
