Coast Guard Region 1 Command rescues Nghe An fishing boat in distress at sea

(Baonghean.vn) - At 5:30 a.m. on October 28, ship CSB 2005 of Squadron 102/Command of Coast Guard Region 1 approached fishing boat numbered NA 90216 TS in strong winds and waves and towed the distressed boat to the mainland.

Previously, at 10:50 p.m. on October 27, while on patrol duty, controlling and fighting IUU in the sea area 0.4 nautical miles southwest of Hon Me Island (Thanh Hoa), ship CSB 2005 received a dispatch order from the Regional Command Headquarters to prepare well and urgently maneuver at the fastest speed to the location of the ship NA 90216 TS in distress at the East - Southeast of Lach Quen estuary (Nghe An) 82 nautical miles.

Through information verification, the NA 90216 TS is a fishing vessel with 16 crew members, captained by Mr. Ho Van Quang, 40 years old, from Hoang Mai town (Nghe An). The ship departed from Lach Con wharf in Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town on October 20.

On the afternoon of October 27, while fishing at the above location, the ship broke its propeller elbow, could not operate and was left drifting at sea in wind conditions of level 6, gusting to level 7, threatening the lives of the crew. The captain sent out information requesting rescue forces to assist in bringing the ship to shore.

Currently, CSB 2005 is towing NA 90216 TS to Lach Con port to hand over people and vehicles to Nghe An Border Guard. It is expected to arrive at Lach Con port at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. The health and spirit of all crew members on the fishing boat in distress are stable./.
