Ministry of Justice holds online conference to review judicial work in the first 6 months of 2024
On the morning of July 10, the Ministry of Justice held an online conference to review the judicial work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024, with the participation of 63 connecting points in provinces and centrally-run cities.

Many outstanding results in various fields
In the first 6 months of 2024, the Judicial sector has closely followed the Resolutions and directions of the Party, National Assembly, Government, and Prime Minister to promptly implement and ensure the progress and quality of the assigned tasks.
Notably: The work of building and perfecting institutions and laws has been focused on and implemented vigorously by ministries and sectors. Many projects and draft legal documents under the management of the sector have been approved by the National Assembly and promulgated by the Government.

The work of appraisal, inspection and review of legal documents (LDOs) has been focused on improving quality and speeding up progress, contributing to ensuring the consistency, publicity, transparency and feasibility of the legal system; institutions in the fields of judicial support and judicial administration continue to be improved, meeting the requirements of preventing corruption, negativity and State management and simplifying administrative procedures, creating convenience for people and businesses.
The implementation of the tasks assigned in Project 06 of the Prime Minister has been carried out synchronously, basically meeting the requirements, especially the digitization of household registration. Up to now, the number of household registration books that have been digitized is 2,524,892 with 60 million data, of which over 50 million data have been updated into the electronic household registration database.
The implementation of connecting two groups of administrative procedures including birth registration, permanent residence registration, health insurance card issuance for children under 6 years old and death registration, permanent residence cancellation, and funeral allowance is being carried out synchronously.

For the Nghe An Judicial sector, in the first 6 months of 2024, it has completed and ensured the quality and progress of the assigned tasks, focusing on a number of key tasks such as: Institutional reform; Participating in the development of a resolution on piloting the addition of a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province; Deploying Project 06/CP; Strengthening state management in the field of judicial support... The effectiveness and efficiency of state management in the fields of lawyers, notaries, and property auctions continue to be improved.

The settlement of administrative procedures for people and businesses continues to be guaranteed in terms of time and quality. In particular, the Nghe An Judicial sector has strongly applied information technology in direction, management and professional work.
From 2022 to present, Nghe An Judicial sector has always been at the top of the sectors with high online rate in the province.
In the first 6 months of 2024 alone, the whole province registered 81,452/85,961 cases online (reaching a rate of 94.75%, exceeding 24.75% compared to the target set by the Provincial People's Committee), an increase of 11.08% over the same period in 2023, of which online registration of 3 groups of essential public services: birth, death, and marriage was 13,796/14,232 cases (reaching a rate of 96.93%, exceeding 26.93% of the target set by the Provincial People's Committee).
The work of issuing criminal records continued to be carried out well, the whole province received 31,025 records (down 17.78% compared to the same period in 2023), processed 30,112 records. Of which, 17,074 records were received online (accounting for 55.03%; up 30.57% compared to the same period in 2023).
In addition to the achieved results, the judicial work in the first 6 months of 2024 still has some shortcomings and limitations such as: The situation of outstanding debts, slow issuance of detailed regulations and instructions for the implementation of laws and ordinances has not been thoroughly resolved; the implementation of some tasks is still slow; the results of civil judgment enforcement have not been as expected; professional guidance in some fields is not timely; violations still occur in the activities of lawyers and notaries...

Acknowledging and appreciating the achievements of the Judiciary in the first 6 months of 2024;Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long requested the judiciary to continue to perform well 10 key task groups and 130 specific task groups in various fields with the spirit of "only discussing action, not retreating".

In particular, focusing on strictly implementing Regulation No. 132-QD/TW of the Politburo on controlling power, preventing and combating corruption and negativity in investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments; Directive No. 04-CT/TW of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in the recovery of assets appropriated or lost in criminal cases of corruption and economic crimes; legal regulations on civil and administrative judgment enforcement.
Continue to effectively carry out the tasks of the Judiciary sector according to Project No. 06 of the Prime Minister; Digital transformation plan of the Judiciary sector for the period 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030.

Strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of state management and the quality of public services in the fields of civil status, nationality, authentication; state compensation; adoption; judicial records; registration of security measures; judicial support, legal aid, and legal support for businesses.
Effectively carry out international cooperation on law and judicial reform on the basis of closely following the foreign policy and orientation of the Party and State and the key tasks of the Ministry of Justice; continue to promote bilateral and multilateral cooperation; effectively carry out state management on international cooperation on law and judicial reform, especially cooperation activities in law-making and institutional improvement.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long also requested ministries, branches and localities to focus on improving the quality of training and fostering judicial and legal human resources with good qualifications, expertise, and strong political will to meet the requirements of international integration, especially projects and programs approved by the Government./.
