The dispatch clearly stated that the fire at Carina Plaza apartment building on March 23, 2018 on Vo Van Kiet Street, Ward 16, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City caused great damage to people and property. Performing the State management function of the Ministry of Construction, participating in guiding the handling of the incident to ensure safety for people and neighboring structures after the incident, the Minister of Construction assigned the relevant units to immediately carry out a number of urgent tasks to stabilize the situation.

In the immediate future, the units are required to approach the construction site, inspect the current status of the incident and coordinate to determine the cause of the fire. On that basis, propose instructions on solutions to evacuate people and property from the construction site, ensuring the safety of people and the construction site as well as neighboring construction sites. The units are also required to organize an assessment of the impact of the incident on the construction site, in order to have solutions to ensure the safety of the construction site and people.
Minister Pham Hong Ha also requested the State Appraisal Department of Construction Quality to coordinate with local Construction Departments to review similar works that have been put into use, and request investors to have solutions to overcome and ensure safety if necessary.
