Ministry of Health prepares resources to vaccinate children from 5 to 11 years old

The Central bridge was chaired by comrade Le Hai Binh - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department. Chairing the Nghe An bridge were comrades Deputy Heads of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department: Tran Quoc Khanh and Pham Ngoc Canh.

At the conference, the reporters heard comrade Do Viet Hung - Assistant Minister, Director of the Department of International Organizations, Minister of Foreign Affairs inform on the topic "Current world situation: Impact and foreign policy of Vietnam".

Based on information on current world situations and trends, the role of ASEAN in the region and the world, comrade Do Viet Hung also pointed out the opportunities and challenges for Vietnam and the new requirements in the country's foreign affairs, both inheriting the nation's foreign affairs tradition and having development, agility, flexibility, and good grasp of opportunities to promote national development.

Next, the reporters listened to Comrade Do Xuan Tuyen - Deputy Minister of Health inform about some initial results of implementing Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP, dated October 11, 2021 of the Government on promulgating temporary regulations "Safe and flexible adaptation, effective control of Covid-19 epidemic", directions and key tasks in the coming time.

The issue is affirmed that through the resolution, a solid legal framework has been created to help localities issue and implement administrative measures and medical professional measures appropriate to the epidemic levels for control; gradually restore the economy, labor market, export, attract investment...; social security work has been strengthened, foreign affairs activities have been promoted.

Although the number of cases tends to increase, the number of severe cases requiring oxygen, ventilators, etc. has decreased significantly compared to before. The rate of patients requiring oxygen has decreased more than 22 times; the mortality rate/number of cases has decreased by nearly 50%, from 2.45% to 1.24%.

In addition, there are issues of concern: The number of cases in the community is increasing, the Omicron variant has appeared with rapid spread; many cases are asymptomatic, the source of infection is unknown, and the weather is changing seasons in the winter-spring period.

In leadership, direction, operation and implementation, some ministries, branches and localities are not unified, lack flexibility, are still stereotyped and mechanical; there is no strict monitoring, management and control of implementation.

Some localities are still confused about managing and monitoring F0, F1 quarantined subjects or home treatment. Some people and businesses are subjective and negligent, leading to failure to comply with the 5K epidemic prevention and control regulations.

The health system is overloaded when the epidemic breaks out; the "4 on-site" motto in disease prevention and control in many localities is not guaranteed. The local epidemic prevention budget is not enough to meet the operational needs of the epidemic prevention and control medical sector.

Comrade Do Xuan Tuyen - Deputy Minister of Health affirmed the policy of promoting vaccination, ensuring coverage of supplementary doses and booster doses for subjects aged 18 and above; sufficient basic doses for subjects aged 12-17; at the same time, preparing resources to vaccinate children aged 5-11.

At the end of the conference, on behalf of the Central Propaganda Department, Comrade Le Hai Binh - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, oriented a number of key points in propaganda activities in March 2022. In which, the Propaganda Department and reporters at all levels, on the basis of the two topics conveyed at the conference, were required to convey to cadres, party members and people in a timely and accurate manner; contributing to raising awareness, thereby repelling unverified or provocative information on cyberspace. At the same time, promoting the role of press agencies in propaganda work of an official and accurate nature.

In addition to promoting the above two topics, the Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department also emphasized some key contents in March related to the National Women's Congress, scheduled to take place in 3 days, from March 9 to 11, so it is necessary to promote the congress, the role of the organization and Vietnamese women in the current period.
