Ministry of Health: Contact lenses and mosquito repellent creams are considered unsafe
Two products commonly used by many people, contact lenses and mosquito repellent cream, have just been classified by the Ministry of Health as products and goods that can potentially cause unsafety within the scope of management assigned by the Ministry of Health.
Circular 44 stipulates 6 groups of products and goods that are potentially unsafe within the scope assigned by the Ministry of Health. In particular, all types of contact lenses (nearsighted, farsighted, astigmatism) are classified as potentially unsafe. Their use requires specific indications and instructions, and should not be used arbitrarily because they can cause harm. In addition, devices and materials that are implanted long-term (over 30 days) into the body, devices and materials that intervene in the body in the cardiovascular and cranial neurology specialties, etc. are all classified as potentially unsafe and are under the management of the Ministry of Health.
Mosquito repellent creams are also potentially unsafe products and are regulated. At the same time, all types of chemicals, insecticides, and disinfectants used in households and medical settings; mosquito repellent incense; mosquito repellent chemical sheets; insect repellent sprays; insect baits; electric mosquito repellent solutions; mosquito repellent and chemical-impregnated mosquito nets; insecticide sprays; larvae-killing chemicals and hand sanitizers; fruit and food washing products that have antibacterial effects in households... are all in the group of potentially unsafe products and drugs managed by the Ministry of Health.
