The Ministry of Health requests the Department of Health of coastal provinces/cities from Quang Ninh to Ninh Binh, the provinces in the Northern Delta and mountainous areas and related units to immediately deploy response work to storm No. 14.

The Ministry of Health has just issued Official Dispatch No. 04 to the Departments of Health of coastal provinces/cities from Quang Ninh to Ninh Binh and the provinces in the Northern Delta and mountainous areas, units under the Ministry in the Northern region and related units to urgently deploy response to storm No. 14.

The Ministry of Health requests relevant units to: Closely monitor the developments of storm No. 14; focus on storm prevention, proactively coordinate with relevant local departments/sectors to resolutely and urgently deploy synchronous measures to respond to unusual developments of rain and storms; deploy on-site plans 4 to respond promptly and accurately, minimizing damage to people and property caused by rain and storms.

Provincial/municipal Health Departments mobilize local medical forces to proactively respond to storm No. 14; proactively prepare human resources, basic medicine, chemicals for flood and storm prevention, and essential necessities in areas that may be isolated. Medical facilities organize 24/7 emergency duty, ready to receive and provide emergency care for victims affected by rain and storms. Mobile emergency teams are always ready to respond to lower levels when ordered. Urgently deploy plans to protect or relocate medical facilities to ensure absolute safety for patients, medical staff as well as medicines, chemicals, and medical equipment in mountainous areas, along rivers and streams, and areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and flash floods caused by rain and storms. Proactively plan to evacuate medical facilities in low-lying areas, low-lying areas, and areas at risk of flooding, especially in the downstream areas of reservoirs.

Coordinate with local departments, agencies and branches to guide people to stockpile food, drinking water to ensure food safety and hygiene and other necessary necessities to proactively cope with rain, storms and floods in key areas that may be isolated for a long time. When ordered by competent authorities, medical units need to closely coordinate with functional forces to organize the relocation and evacuation of residents from dangerous areas.

Units under the Ministry of Health, according to their assigned specialized tasks, are assigned to direct lower-level units and prepare a stock of medicines, chemicals, equipment, vehicles and assign mobile medical teams to be on duty 24/7 to support localities in overcoming the consequences caused by storms and floods.
