Boeing 737-500 crashed in Russia is 23 years old
According to Russian news agencies, on November 17, a Boeing 737 plane crashed in Russia, killing 44 passengers and 6 crew members.
Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry confirmed that it was a domestic flight that crashed while landing in the city of Kazan in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The plane, which took off from Moscow, "crashed at Kazan airport at 19:25 (1525 GMT).
According to the aviation safety website www.aviation-safety.net, the age of the ill-fated Boeing 737-500 that crashed at Kazan airport (Russia) on the evening of November 17 was 23 years old.
This plane first took off on June 18, 1990.
Before being purchased by Russia's Tatarstan Airlines in 2008, the Boeing 737 was owned by various airlines including France's Euralair (1990-1992) and Air France (1992-1995), Uganda's national carrier, small Brazilian airline Rio Sul, Dublin-based leasing company Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services (AWAS), Romania's Blue Air and Bulgaria Air.
The Boeing 737-500 passenger aircraft is the smallest member of the classic Boeing-737 family. This aircraft has a shorter fuselage and a longer range than the base Boeing 737-300.
Since production began in 1967, there have been more than 170 accidents involving the Boeing-737. The November 17 crash in Kazan was the third of this type of aircraft on Russian territory.
On September 14, 2008, an Aeroflot-Nord Boeing 737-500 crashed in Perm, killing all 88 people on board.
On October 1, 2008, at Khabarovo International Airport in Kaliningrad, a Boeing 737-300, flying from Barcelona to Kaliningrad, encountered problems when landing, but no one was injured.
The latest major crash involving a Boeing-737 occurred on April 20, 2012. A plane operated by Pakistan's private airline, Bojo Airlines, crashed while landing at Islamabad airport, killing 127 people.
Relatives of passengers killed in the Kazan plane crash can receive 2 million rubles ($61,200) in insurance money along with 25,000 rubles ($765) in funeral money from the SOGAZ insurance company./.
