(Baonghean) -This morning, March 22, at Nghe An Provincial Political School, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang (Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) introduced the topic "World economic situation, influence and development prospects of Vietnam's economy".

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee introduced the topic.
The lecturer conveyed to the audience the current situation and causes of the world economy having undergone many fluctuations since 2000. Especially the US credit crisis in 2007, followed by the global economic crisis in 2008-2009. In 2010, although the impact of the economic crisis has temporarily subsided, there are still many potential fluctuations, typically the public debt crisis of Greece, European countries such as Spain, Italy, Portugal and recently the ongoing crisis and conflict in Egypt and Libya. The main causes are depleted resources, the gap between rich and poor, ethnic and religious conflicts through the "jasmine revolution" to change the regime for the economic benefit of some countries. These crises are not cyclical but structural crises.
Nearly 200 officials at all levels listened to a seminar on world economics.
Vietnam belongs to the group of developing countries, although not directly affected by the crisis of the world financial system. However, after joining the WTO, our country became an inseparable part of the world economy, so it had to suffer the heavy indirect consequences of the economic recession. However, after the global crisis, Vietnam was assessed as one of the two fast-growing economies.
In 2010, all targets set by the National Assembly were achieved, the economy was restructured in depth, and the macro economy was stable. Resolution 11 of the Government on key solutions focused on curbing inflation, stabilizing the macro economy, and ensuring social security. In that direction, we need to combine short-term solutions with medium- and long-term solutions, and coordinate synchronously between the Central and local governments and economic regions. Develop the economy with quality, efficiency, and competitiveness; harmonize with society, ensure democracy, fairness, security, and social security; and at the same time, protect the environment, reduce emissions, and fight pollution for a green planet, in order to meet the goal of sustainable development.
