Three bodies were found in flood-hit Johnson County, Kentucky, and a fourth person drowned in southern Indiana after his car was swept into a creek.

Officials said rescuers found the body of a 22-year-old man Wednesday afternoon, July 15. He was one of two people listed as missing after they were last seen being swept away Monday by flooding in Johnson County, about 125 miles east of Lexington. The man’s family has not yet been notified of his death, and rescuers are still searching for the other missing people, Johnson County Coroner JR Frisby said.

Herman Eddie May, 56, drowned Monday night after leaving his car on a flooded road, and the body of Willa Mae Pennington, 74, was found Tuesday afternoon amid flood debris. In Indiana, Edwin Flaherty, 67, was found dead Tuesday night after his car was swept into a creek near Charlestown, 20 miles north of Louisville. An autopsy found he drowned, an Indiana Department of Natural Resources spokesman said.

State police Captain Sean Welch said authorities believe the other four missing people failed to notify other family members living outside their area.
