Take from the poor, give to the rich!

(Baonghean) - Poor people are often pitiful and very fragile. Just a little change related to food, clothing, and money makes them feel worried and scared. Afraid because their already meager wallets can continue to be worn out and the pressure to survive will increase on a life that is already full of worries and busy with making a living.

This time, when the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a new electricity price, effective from June 1, the poor again experienced days of "living in fear". Because according to this new decision, in general, the electricity price remains at 1,508 VND/KWh as before and only adjusts each retail price level. Specifically, those who use from 0 to 50KWh per month will have their price increased from 993 VND to 1,388 VND. Those who use a lot of electricity, reaching 201 to 300 KWh/month, will get a discount of up to 7% on the current average retail electricity price (from 145% of the average retail electricity price down to only 138%), those who use 301 to 400 KWh/month will also get a discount of 1%.

It is not difficult to immediately recognize that customers who only use 50KWh per month are poor. Because only poor people, poor people, dare not use much and do not have many electrical appliances to use. And even though they have been supported with 30 thousand VND for the first 50KWh, with this new calculation, people still have to spend more on electricity. Of course, if the cost of electricity increases, the cost of meals and other essential needs will have to decrease. As for those who use from 201 to 400KWh/month, who are clearly well-off and rich, their electricity bill will be reduced. It is true that "water flows to low places", the rich get richer. As for "A dry tree in water also dries/A poor person goes to a poor place and becomes poor", the electricity bill does not increase anywhere but is aimed at the pockets of the poor. And it increases at once by 39.77%, how cruel! This kind of shocking increase can easily make the poor panic!

Having said that, I still think this way of calculating retail electricity prices is too harsh on the poor and seems unethical in life. Because who would take advantage of the poor and reward the rich?
