Four members of the volunteer group drowned.
On June 2, the leader of Than Sa commune, Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province said that up to this point, the rescue team has not yet found the bodies of three out of four people who drowned at around 4 p.m. on June 1 at the Mua Roi waterfall area in Kim Son hamlet, Than Sa commune.

All four victims were members of the "Wings of Dreams" volunteer group from Hanoi.
As scheduled, on June 1, the volunteer group went to Thuong Nung commune, Vo Nhai district, to give gifts to local students on the occasion of International Children's Day, June 1. The group members were mainly students.
After the working program, on the way back, the group stopped at Than Sa stream area, near the foot of Mua Roi waterfall to take souvenir photos. Due to not understanding the nature of the stream flow and terrain, 6 people in the group fell into the deep abyss and were swept away by the water.
At that moment, some people in the commune bravely jumped in and tried to save the two victims. Because of the strong currents, whirlpools and deep abysses, it was impossible to save the remaining four people.
At around 6pm the same day, the search team recovered the body of the first victim, Nguyen Manh Tu, born in 1993, residing in Hoai Duc district, Hanoi. Due to the darkness and the potentially dangerous flow of the stream, the search had to be temporarily suspended.
Vo Nhai district leaders have directed the planting of stakes at Than Sa spillway about 2km from the accident site to prevent the victims' bodies from drifting too far and have arranged for forces to be on duty all night.
On the evening of June 1, Thai Nguyen provincial leaders arrived at the scene to direct the search. Rescue forces are trying to find the bodies of the remaining 3 victims.
The list of victims was identified as Mr. Le Viet Phuong, born in 1993, residing in Vinh city, Nghe An province; Mr. Nguyen Ba Trung, born in 1992, residing in Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province; Mr. Nguyen Manh Tu, born in 1993, residing in Hoai Duc district, Hanoi city and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, born in 1993, residing in Hung Yen province./.
