Beating the Philippines, Vietnamese women's volleyball team enters the FIVB Challenger Cup semi-finals for the first time
Actively preparing since winning the AVC Challenge Cup 2024 at the end of May, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team officially entered the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024, which opened on July 5 in the Philippines.
The Vietnamese team entered the game confidently and effectively. The powerful smashes of Bich Tuyen and Tu Linh, along with effective tactical moves, helped coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team quickly create a gap of 25-14 in the first set.
Positive and timely adjustments helped the home team play better afterwards, even creating significant pressure for the Vietnamese team in the second game.

The "double sword" performance between Thanh Thuy and Bich Tuyen was not smooth, but with the overwhelming advantage, the Vietnamese team continued to win 25-22 in this match.
Both sides chased the score more fiercely in the third set and the home team had the only time to take the lead 19-18 amid enthusiastic cheers from a large audience.
Unfortunately, the Philippines' hope of a comeback failed when they lost strength at the decisive moments and had to accept the third loss at 21-25.
No one else made the biggest mark in the opening victory of the Vietnamese team than Bich Tuyen when the main striker from Vinh Long scored a total of 30 points (27 attack points, 3 block points), quickly rising to the list of players with the most points at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024.
Defeating the Philippines with a score of 3-0, the Vietnamese women's team won the right to continue to the semi-finals of the tournament in their second participation.
This is a historic victory for Vietnamese women's volleyball at the world level.
Bellingham suspended for indecent conduct
Midfielder Jude Bellingham has been suspended by UEFA for one match for his inappropriate behaviour during the match between England and Slovakia, in the round of 16 of EURO 2024.
In this match, Bellingham was the hero of the England team when he scored the equalizer 1-1 in the last minutes of injury time of the second half, before Harry Kane scored to bring back the victory 2-1 at the beginning of extra time.
After scoring, Bellingham had a remarkable action, when he celebrated by putting his hand down to his sensitive area and facing the Slovakia bench.

This rude action caused the Real Madrid midfielder to be heavily criticized. Bellingham later had to post a correction saying he was only joking with some close friends in the stands and did not intend to insult his opponent.
However, Bellingham's behavior did not receive forgiveness from UEFA. In the latest development, the European Football Federation decided to fine 25 thousand pounds and suspend this star wearing the number 10 shirt for 1 match.
