(Baonghean) - Ever since its introduction at the CES 2015 Exhibition in the US, Bphone, a smartphone manufactured by Bkav, has attracted the attention of the media as well as technology enthusiasts in the country. Bphone has caused controversy since it was the first Vietnamese smartphone to be introduced abroad and also the first model to target the high-end smartphone segment, which is only reserved for major foreign brands such as Apple, Samsung, etc.

Bkav has been very successful in creating a media effect with shocking statements such as this is the smartphone with the most beautiful design in the world, the sound quality is much better than the high-end models on the market. Bphone is directly compared with iPhone 6 - a smartphone considered a measure for high-end products on the market. Users are now attracted to the product because Bphone has something that can be compared with iPhone 6.

The company uses the strategy of leaking product information like foreign companies when introducing their high-end products, images of Bphone before the launch date are only provided by Bkav. All information about Bphone before the launch date is just an image of the device placed in a black protective frame. The most basic information about the configuration is that the device uses a 5-inch FullHD screen produced by Sharp.

The company also said it has invested millions of dollars to build a production line in Vietnam and is also the first company to sign a technology copyright contract with Qualcomm, one of the world's leading mobile chip manufacturers, to use its technology on Bphone.

Before those shocking statements, Bphone was called Bomb Phone, however, the interest of Bphone was increased to the highest level. To maintain that interest before the launch date, the fully revealed image of Bphone appeared again, but this was only a test version from a long time before.

The Bphone launch ceremony was attended by 2,000 guests. The event was held in a style quite similar to Apple's product launch. The ceremony attracted the attention of technology lovers nationwide. Many controversies broke out immediately after the event ended, such as issues regarding copyright of images, ringtones, and even the fact that Bkav CEO Nguyen Tu Quang imitated Steve Job's style when introducing Bphone.

Despite the launch errors, Bkav has been very successful in bringing Bphone to the market. Vietnamese users are interested in smartphones labeled “made in Vietnam”, which will certainly be a great encouragement for other companies producing products with Vietnamese brands.
