Brazil arrests another suspect plotting 2016 Olympics terror attack
Brazilian authorities said on July 26 that police had just arrested another IS-linked suspect plotting to attack the 2016 Olympics.
This is the last suspect linked to a 12-member pro-Islamic State (IS) group. Previously, security forces arrested 10 terrorism suspects in several states in this country. The 11th suspect committed suicide when attacked by police.
Brazilian Justice Minister Alexandre Moraes said the terror suspects did not know each other and only communicated through the messaging app Whatsapp and Telegram.

All 12 members of the group pledged allegiance to the Islamic State and planned to buy multiple AK-47 rifles in Paraguay to carry out a terrorist plot at the 2016 Olympics.
According to Brazilian investigators, this is an amateur terrorist group that has never been to IS strongholds or undergone any IS training in Syria or Iraq. Federal judge Marco da Silva warned that there may be many others involved in this group.
To ensure security for the world's largest sporting event, held for the first time in South America, on July 25, the country's air force began to limit and control the no-fly zone in Rio de Janeiro with 80 aircraft of various types and 15,000 soldiers. Along with that, Brazil said it was ready to deal with the risk of chemical weapons attacks./.
