Kim Dong Publishing House has just compiled and published the book Nguyen Minh Chau - from "Soldier's Footprints" to "Old Khung in the Countryside"

Writer Nguyen Minh Chau was born on October 20, 1930 in Van Thai village (commonly known as Thoi village), Quynh Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An. Thoi village left a deep impression on Nguyen Minh Chau's childhood, and later, memories of people and landscapes would follow him into many of his writings. At the end of his writing career, when he switched from the topic of soldiers in war to farmers in peace, the writer used people from his own village, even his own family, as characters. Thoi village in real life became Khoi village in his work, and his nephew Nguyen Huy Cung was the prototype for the character of old Khung.

Nguyen Minh Chau - from "Soldier's Footprints" to "Old Man Khung in the Countryside" gives readers a thorough portrait of writer Nguyen Minh Chau. His concerns throughout his writing career in perceiving and building the image of people, the beauty of people in war as well as in peace.

Tracing the timeline from the time he was in the army until the years he wrote on his sickbed, Nguyen Minh Chau - from "Soldier's Footprints" to "Old Khung in the Countryside" - has built a complete portrait of the writer in soldier's uniform.

In this book, not only can we find it through the words, but each reader can also imagine it through the precious images provided by the late writer's family. As the writer Dung Ha wrote in the article "The fire always burns bright": "The pages of his books will forever be remembered in literary history as pages of books that are both talented and imbued with boundless love for people, for the land and the country.

And through that we also understand that Nguyen Minh Chau's career is not an easy path but a path full of hard efforts, even dangerous parts that seem impossible to continue. But with faith and creative talent, he overcame everything... During his life, he lived more sadness than joy, both his face and words always revealed a weak look. But inside that person there was a fire that always burned brightly."

On this occasion, with gratitude to the writer's family for creating favorable conditions to help and providing visual materials about the writer, Kim Dong Publishing House and the book's production team organized a visit and presented the writer's family with this meaningful book on the morning of Friday, July 15.

This is the 12th book in the series My Writer by Kim Dong Publishing House, following books about talented and famous writers in the Vietnamese literary world such as Nguyen Huy Tuong, Ngo Tat To, Nguyen Hong, Nam Cao, Vu Trong Phung, To Hoai...
