Victoria Beckham's open letter about motherhood

May 21, 2015 15:51

(Baonghean) - May seems to be the month for us to honor mothers with Mother's Day (2nd Sunday of May). Although Mother's Day 2015 has passed, Times magazine recently published an emotional letter from British fashion designer Victoria Beckham sharing the happiness as well as the challenges of being a mother of four children.

Victoria Beckhams was born on April 17, 1974, into a family with a musical tradition. Her musical talent was also revealed from a young age with many local music competitions. However, her musical career only reached a new height when she and four of her friends formed the famous girl group Spice Girls, with resounding success that changed the face of international pop music and gave a new definition of "feminism" in pop music.

6 years later, Victoria's name became even more known when she married English football star David Beckham. But instead of being famous based on her husband's reputation, she has worked hard on her own career in many fields such as modeling, business, fashion and affirmed her name in the world showbiz.

Victoria doesn't often share about her family life, so she surprised many people when she wrote a long letter on Mother's Day, following American tradition.

The letter was posted on the Times magazine website, in which Vic shared her happiness in being a mother and her experiences in being the "soul" that connects family members, so that the Becks family is now one of the ideal family models that everyone always wishes for.

"They surprise me every day. From my teenage son to my little girl. Every moment of the day is filled with different energies, activities, emotions and lots of fun. From playing sports to lying on the sofa, every moment with the kids is filled with laughter, music and debate. They are polite, kind and always eager to learn. I am so lucky to have them by my side," Vic shared about her 4 children - Brooklyn, Cruz, Romeo and Harper.

Happiness is not only being with your children, happiness is also having interesting connections with family when you are apart. In her letter, Victoria mentioned the letters that her children hid in their luggage when they were away on business trips: "I always carry pictures of my family next to my bed so they are the first people I see when I wake up and the last image in my eyes before I go to sleep. I love the feeling of hearing their voices on the phone or seeing their faces on FaceTime."

As a successful woman in her career and famous all over the world, Victoria's greatest aspiration is to become the best mother role model for her children to follow, and to be their inspiration and motivation, accompanying them on their life journeys.

Also in her letter, she expressed her sympathy and gratitude to mothers: "I admire mothers everywhere for putting their own needs behind those of their children, facing the uncertainties of everyday life, venturing into the difficult, dangerous terrain that everyday life brings in exchange for receiving boundless joy and love...".

We often think about the people who come and go in our lives, but there is one person who has always been with us from the very first moments of our lives, willing to do everything for us, willing to sacrifice everything to preserve our family life and to see our smile... that can only be Mom. Let's always send love to Mom, not only in May, but anytime, anywhere, when we can.
