Letter from Chinese family infected with Covid-19 to thank Vietnamese hospital
Immediately after being cured of Covid-19 in Vietnam, the family of Chinese Li ZiChao wrote a letter to Cho Ray Hospital before returning home.
Dr. Le Quoc Hung, Head of the Department of Tropical Diseases, Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, has just shared a letter from Mr. Li ZiChao - one of two Chinese patients - who was cured by Cho Ray Hospital.
Dr. Hung shared on his personal page: "In 30 years of working, I don't remember how many patients have recovered, overcome the scythe of death and returned to their families. Their joy when discharged from the hospital is happiness, a flower that decorates the lives of medical staff in general and mine in particular.
Regardless of who the patient is, Vietnamese or foreign, most of them want to thank the medical staff in one way or another. For us, a thank you is also considered a precious reward for the achievements.
Today, in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic globally, many medical staff have been infected and some have even passed away forever for the health of the people. I would like to post a letter of thanks from Li ZiChao - a Covid-19 patient (who was cured at Cho Ray Hospital) as a tribute to the deceased and a source of encouragement for all medical staff (without borders) to continue to stand together, believing in the final victory and that the Covid-19 pandemic will quickly pass.

Mr. Li Ding's family and doctors of Cho Ray Hospital. |
Dear Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Director of Cho Ray Hospital, Dr. Le Quoc Hung, Head of Tropical Diseases Department, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sang and the team…
We are father and son patients infected with Corona virus fromWuhan, Hubei, China.
CWe have been out of the hospital for three days, but our minds still seem to linger there. We cannot forget the deep and beautiful impression that Cho Ray Hospital has left.
My father specifically gave me the task to do: Thank Vietnam, the Vietnamese Government, the Ministry of Health and thank all the doctors and nurses at Cho Ray Hospital who took care of us.
Our family is truly sorry that our coming here has caused you any trouble. We would like to bow to you. We are very sorry!
The professionalism and care that the doctors have shown us in treating us, we will always remember from the bottom of our hearts, especially the doctor who gave my father an extra 10 days of medication when he was no longer in the hospital. That act of concern and kind care touched us very much.
We thank you very much for the delicious meals and fruits that you provided for my family during my stay in the hospital. After all you have done, we should have something in return, but because of the expired visa and the short time, we could not do more.
In a strange city, we could not find fruits, suitable food or other gifts to give back to the dear doctors and nurses who had taken care of us. We felt ashamed and guilty towards all the doctors and nurses because we considered them as our friends, people to whom we should give something in return.
We had thought about presenting the hospital with a large plaque as a souvenir, but there was not enough time to do so. Although we left this place with regret, we will remember your kindness very much.
After deciding, our family agreed to return to beautiful Vietnam again in the future, when everything is settled. We will return to Cho Ray again to express our deep gratitude to our wonderful family friends.
Thank you, thank you Vietnam, thank you Vietnamese Government!
