(Baonghean) -Receiving the news that she was the valedictorian of block D3 at Foreign Trade University, Thao Huong was so happy that she cried tears of joy, happy because of her goal of achieving a high score when taking the entrance exam to a prestigious school and happy because she had partly repaid the efforts of her parents, teachers and the class 12 C6, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
As a strong-willed girl, despite her difficult family circumstances, Thao Huong always knows how to rise up and be confident to be a spiritual support for her mother and younger brother.
Before my father was alive, my mother was not healthy enough to work, so he had to work hard to support the family by working as a construction worker. My parents always taught me and my sisters to cultivate knowledge so that we can find a bright future for ourselves. Then my father suddenly passed away, all the burden fell on my mother's shoulders. Thao and her younger brother only knew how to try to achieve many achievements in their studies "to make my mother happy and to make my father smile from above". Setting a goal to study to change the future, to be a support for my mother was always in Thao Huong's mind.

Huong's high school years were filled with days of riding a bicycle, early in the morning from Nghi Lien commune (Nghi Loc) and then arriving at noon with only a dry loaf of bread, she continued studying the school programs until 5 pm. However, her academic achievements were impressive, for 3 consecutive years Huong always had a total score of over 9, in grade 12 she won the Encouragement Prize for National Excellent Student in Russian. Teacher Duong Thi Minh Nguyet - homeroom teacher of class 12C6 said: "Huong is a girl with a lot of determination, she is not only good at her specialized subjects but also good at all subjects. As the deputy class monitor in charge of studying, Huong is always exemplary, dedicated and ready to help her friends in their studies. Despite her difficult family situation, Huong is always confident and always makes all her classmates admire her will and determination".
With impressive scores: Literature 8.5, Math 9, Russian 9.75, total 27.5, achieving valedictorian of block D3 of the Foreign Economics Department - Foreign Trade University, Thao Huong said: I did not take any extra classes but only studied at home. I scheduled my study sessions scientifically. In each review session, Huong always chose to study all 3 subjects equally, and timed herself to do the exam for each subject. Although she was admitted directly this year, she was not satisfied with that result and registered to take the exam at Foreign Trade University to fulfill her dream of becoming a foreign economist in the future.
When asked about the competition in the economic sector, Thao Huong did not hesitate to share: "Although there is competition, I believe that if I am fully equipped with education and outstanding soft skills, the job will choose me." That is also the path that Thao Huong has outlined for herself to confidently walk despite the difficulties.
In this year's Literature exam, there was an open question: "Please express your thoughts on the saying "Most Vietnamese people have a passive personality, they are followers, not pioneers. If someone goes first and tries first, I will follow instead of being the leader. Social pressure forces you to follow the path that has been drawn." Huong put her sharp thoughts into the article: "In my opinion, the pre-drawn path is the path with less risk. If you know how to make good use of the experiences of those who have gone before and your ability to adapt, you will still succeed, but that is a path that has become a rut. The new path is a path with many risks and therefore there will be failure if you only focus on your own personality. So I will choose a new path and equip myself with the experiences of those who have gone before to cultivate my steps more firmly and the destination of the path will be the light of success." Those are also the plans and paths that Thao Huong will take.
