Strong move in coastal town

(Baonghean.vn) - At the end of 2011, the Party Committee of Cua Lo Town had 85% of its grassroots organizations achieving clean and strong status, with no weak grassroots party organizations. Of which, the percentage of hamlet party cells directly under the grassroots Party Committee achieving clean and strong status accounted for 71.56%. The above results are a result of focusing on improving and enhancing the quality of party cell activities.

In the first days of the new year, we went to Block 2, Nghi Thuy Ward (Cua Lo Town) and walked on straight concrete roads, both sides of the road were brightly decorated with national flags and the slogan "Celebrating the Party, Celebrating Spring". After a year of going out to sea and entering the sea, the fishermen were leisurely reweaving their nets, rolling up ropes and cords to prepare for a new fishing season. Many fish processing workshops were busy with the last batches of steaming to serve the Lunar New Year, the faces of the fishermen were sparkling with joy.

Party cell secretary Vo Quang Vinh could not hide his joy, saying that today's results were due to the timely resolution of the Party cell on converting the profession at sea, from fishing for te and mang to womb fishing. In particular, it thoroughly informed all Party members about the ban on using electric shock and explosives in seafood exploitation.

Exemplary Party members go first, then encourage people to follow suit, not using electric shocks or explosives that affect the marine ecological environment, contributing to protecting aquatic resources. The entire bloc has 17 pairs of boats converted to the wombat profession, creating jobs for hundreds of workers with an income of 30-40 million VND/person/year. In addition, the Party cell also issued a resolution on diversifying economic models. Currently, the bloc has successfully built 4 economic models: Purchasing and processing seafood; carpentry, animal husbandry and making iron doors with an annual revenue of 200-300 million VND/model/year.

In Block 7 Party Cell (Nghi Thuy), with the goal of developing the marine economy, the Party Cell has focused on directing the promotion of seafood exploitation and processing, expanding commercial services to serve tourists when they come to the coastal tourist town. In 2011, Block 7 craft village produced 200,000 liters of fish sauce, the total production value from seafood processing reached nearly 7 billion VND (accounting for 66.6% of the total production value of the village); the average income per capita of craft village workers reached over 20 million VND/person/year.

Currently, the whole block has 65 households with more than 100 workers participating in the profession, accounting for 40% of the households in the block. Typically, Mr. Vo Van Phuc's household has an income of 400-500 million VND per year from fishing and seafood processing, creating jobs for 25-30 workers; Mr. Hoang Van Yen's household has 2 seafood processing workshops, creating jobs for 10 workers.

On the 3rd of every month, the party cells in Nghi Hai ward (Cua Lo town) organize activities. To ensure that party members who are workers can fully participate in the activities, the party cells choose the time for the activities to be held around 10 to 12 noon. In addition to orienting the solutions to problems arising in the block, the party cells discuss solutions to achieve the common economic and social goals of the ward by promoting democracy and openness.

Secretary of the Ward Party Committee Ngo Thanh Son said: "At the end of the year, while other localities have a "headache" in evaluating poor households, in Nghi Hai, the Party cells work quickly, neatly, and accurately. Under the leadership of the Party cell, government organizations and unions strictly implement. First of all, propaganda about the criteria for poor households; instructing inter-household groups to vote and introduce poor households according to the announced criteria, the Party committee and the government of the block send cadres to re-check, then organize a meeting of the block's civil affairs committee to listen to the report and review it again. Then, a meeting of all people in the block is held to announce the list of poor households voted for so that people can give their opinions. With this method, all poor households in the village that are voted are the right subjects and the people in the village completely agree".

Since 2006, the Cua Lo Town Party Committee has issued Project 01-DA/Th.u on "Improving the quality of Party cell activities". Comrade Hoang Thanh Son, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Town Party Committee, said: In order for the activities at Party cells to be of high quality, the Standing Committee of the Town Party Committee and the leaders of the grassroots Party Committees of wards and communes must issue a thematic resolution on building village Party cells; assigning Party Committees to be responsible for directing the building of village Party cells and regularly attending activities with Party cells and village Party Committees.

Issue guidelines on the content and methods of Party cell activities for all Party cells, including unified regulations on the time of regular Party cell activities on the 3rd of each month. The content of the activities must be specific and practical, ensuring leadership, education and combat. The Party building committees of the town such as: Organization, Propaganda, Mass Mobilization, Inspection Committee assign cadres and experts to periodically attend the activities of Party cells of blocks and hamlets to monitor and guide the Party cells to organize quality activities. The Propaganda Committee of the Town Party Committee compiles internal newsletters to be distributed to Party cells before the 28th of each month to serve Party cell activities, promptly conveying information on local current affairs for Party members to grasp. The Party Organization Committee of the Town Party Committee coordinates with the Party building committees to organize inspections of the implementation of working order of Party cells. The district political training center regularly opens training courses on Party work for secretaries and Party cell committees, including improving the quality of Party cell activities.

With specific measures and actions, the Party Committee of Cua Lo Town has created positive changes in the activities of the Party cells at the grassroots level. The content of the Party cell activities has been gradually innovated in terms of content, promoting democracy and intelligence of Party members, demonstrating the role of the political leadership nucleus in each unit, especially in leading economic development and effectively transforming the structure of crops and livestock.
