Con Cuong district is one of the first three districts in Nghe An province to implement the free measles-rubella vaccination campaign, along with Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts. Through investigation, the total number of children needing vaccination in Con Cuong district is 15,712. Phase 1 took place from October 1 to October 15, with Con Cuong district medical center vaccinating children aged 1-5. Phase 2 took place from November 16 to November 30, vaccinating children aged 6-10, and phase 3 took place from January 2 to January 16, 2015.
In difficult areas such as Khe Khang village (Mon Son commune, Khu Bu village, Khe Na, Khe Nong (Chau Khe commune), the district health sector will simultaneously conduct vaccination for all subjects aged 1-14 in the same phase in a rolling manner from schools to village communities. In the first two days of the first phase, Con Cuong had 9/13 communes and towns providing free measles-rubella vaccination for children.
On the first day of measles-rubella vaccination, Chi Khe commune health station had many parents bringing their children to get vaccinated. This vaccination point with its record keeping desk, examination and classification desk, injection desk, beds, and waiting area was conveniently arranged, spacious enough, and hygienic. The health station arranged enough staff for reception, screening, and injection tables as well as medical staff to handle shock cases. When giving the vaccination, the medical staff performed the correct steps according to the process of calling names, screening, consulting, injecting, monitoring children after vaccination, and not injecting children with contraindications. All parents expressed satisfaction when seeing their children being vaccinated carefully.

The health station coordinated with the commune kindergarten to arrange 3 vaccination points, including 1 main school point and 2 separate points. The vaccination point at the health station will be for children who cannot be vaccinated at the school point. Doctor Loc Dang Xao, Head of Lang Khe commune health station, said: On the first day of measles-rubella vaccination, we fully vaccinated 138 children of the right age, without missing any subjects; 4 children who were contraindicated due to opportunistic infections and could not be vaccinated in this phase will be vaccinated in the next phase. The measles-rubella vaccination in Lang Khe has been ensured to be safe in all aspects.

The Nghe An health sector is actively monitoring and inspecting the preparations of districts, cities and towns that are about to deploy measles-rubella vaccination. On October 2, the Center for Preventive Medicine of the province inspected Anh Son district - the district that will conduct vaccination from October 7, 2014 to January 14, 2015.
Up to this point, Anh Son district has completed the preparation, investigation of subjects, arrangement of injection points, and arrangement of human resources for the measles-rubella vaccination campaign. Doctor Phan The Hung, Director of Anh Son District Medical Center, affirmed: To ensure the supply of vaccines, materials and reasonable arrangement of human resources, Anh Son District Medical Center will carry out rolling vaccinations at 4 commune and town clusters with 21 injection points and on different days. 77 doctors and nurses will conduct screening examinations at 21 fixed injection points and 01 mobile injection point for 77 examination tables. Doctors from the center and commune health stations are mobilized to ensure that each injection table has 01 doctor.
