Nghe An Post Office: Expanding business forms, improving service quality

(Baonghean) - With the dynamism in innovation of thinking, creative efforts in production and business activities, Nghe An Provincial Post Office has been affirming its leading role in providing public services to Party agencies, government and the masses, meeting all customer needs. In 2013, the Provincial Post Office successfully completed its production, business and service tasks in Nghe An province.

2013 is a year that marks the development of Vietnam Post Corporation in general and Nghe An Provincial Post Office in particular. After separating from Vietnam Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to operate independently under the name of Vietnam Post Corporation (VietnamPost) from January 1, 2013, Vietnam Post Corporation has stabilized its operations and actively participated in providing many public services nationwide.

To effectively implement this policy, right from the beginning of the year, Nghe An Provincial Post Office has synchronously deployed programs, closely following business targets, promoting emulation and innovation movements, striving to overcome all difficulties to excellently perform production and business tasks. Under the close leadership and direction of the leaders of Vietnam Post Corporation, the attention and facilitation of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee, the support of departments, branches and localities, along with the efforts of the collective leadership of the Provincial Post Office and all cadres, employees and workers, in 2013 Nghe An Provincial Post Office has exceeded the targets of the production and business plan. Salary revenue reached 110% of the plan, up 16% compared to 2012. The average income of employees reached 6.3 million VND/person/month, up 19% compared to the previous year, contributing to encouraging and motivating employees and workers to love the industry, love their jobs, work enthusiastically and creatively, and be more attached to their work and work unit. With the achievements in 2013, Nghe An Provincial Post Office was considered by Vietnam Post Corporation and proposed by the Government to award the emulation flag as the leading excellent unit in 2013.

Currently, in addition to providing traditional services such as delivery of letters, newspapers, documents, items, goods, recruitment records, EMS express delivery, etc., Nghe An Provincial Post Office has been expanding its provision of other delivery services, in which public administrative services are given top priority. Initially, Nghe An Provincial Post Office has developed a number of services such as delivery of passports, ID cards, delivery of records - driver's licenses, etc. with good results. Although these services have only been deployed for a short time, they have received consensus and support from authorities at all levels, related sectors and received positive feedback from the majority of people.

Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister and Vietnam Social Security on monthly pension and social insurance benefits payment through the Post Office system, up to now, the pension and social insurance benefits payment service has been deployed by Nghe An Provincial Post Office in 20/21 districts and towns. Vinh City is in the process of developing a plan and is expected to deploy it in 2014. During the implementation process, Nghe An Provincial Post Office regularly coordinates closely with the Social Insurance agency to promptly resolve difficulties and problems arising, ensuring the rights of beneficiaries and is highly appreciated by authorities at all levels, Social Insurance and beneficiaries. The monthly payment rate of over 99.5% has gradually affirmed that this is a major, correct policy, in line with the people's wishes, the monthly payment is carried out safely and quickly. In the process of production and business activities, Nghe An Provincial Post Office is gradually demonstrating the role of the Post Office in accessing and providing public services of the State to the people, contributing to improving the quality of social security, affirming the role of the Post Office in production and business activities for the development goals and common interests of the whole society.

In addition to focusing on traditional services and developing public administrative services, Nghe An Provincial Post Office has effectively exploited sales channels and developed services that bring many benefits to the people. One of the services that the unit is currently deploying on the network is the Postal Savings service, attracting idle money from the population. In addition to serving people at transaction points, Nghe An Provincial Post Office has now deployed services at customer addresses on all days of the week. With emulation programs to promote service development and effective customer care, Nghe An Provincial Post Office is currently leading the entire Vietnam Post Corporation in developing Postal Savings services. In addition, the Post Office also provides services such as PTI non-life insurance, Prevoir life insurance, collection and payment services for partners, flower delivery, airline ticket sales agency, telecommunications SIM card sales, AVG satellite television services.

It can be said that the services provided by Nghe An Provincial Post Office really meet the needs of the people, bring practical benefits to improve the cultural and spiritual life of the people, provide and promptly convey the Party's guidelines, policies, economic, cultural and social information, contributing to the development of the local economy and society. Up to now, these services have basically met the quality announced by VNPost, especially the criteria for public postal services have met and exceeded the regulations in the National Standards on Public Services.

In addition to focusing on directing the promotion of production and business, improving service quality, Nghe An Provincial Post Office regularly takes care of the spiritual life, maintains and develops cultural, artistic and sports movements for employees in the unit. On the occasions of celebrating major holidays of the country and the industry, Nghe An Provincial Post Office directs the organization of cultural and artistic activities, organizes children's festivals, organizes competitions for transaction staff, employees of charming and good business post offices and sports activities... Thanks to that, it has encouraged the spirit of enthusiasm for work, regenerated the labor force, created conditions to improve the material and spiritual life of the unit's cadres and employees.

In the process of providing services, Nghe An Provincial Post Office identified the issue of improving service quality, improving service style, improving service quality, enhancing customer care to increase competitiveness as urgent tasks today. Nghe An Provincial Post Office has quickly innovated its business thinking towards customer-centricity and has made certain innovations in marketing, sales and customer care. In addition, the Provincial Post Office has promoted the movement of initiatives, technical improvements to rationalize production, in which priority is given to the theme "Improving the quality of postal services" launched by the professional and Trade Union of the Corporation. The movements and emulation campaigns of the unit have been actively responded to by all employees, contributing to the unit's excellent completion of production and business tasks in 2013.

Since 2013, Vietnam Post Corporation in general and Nghe An Provincial Post Office in particular no longer receive direct public support from the State but continue to perform the State's public postal obligations, which are to maintain the public postal network and provide public postal services at rates and quality regulated by the State on the basis of business efficiency to offset costs. Therefore, in the coming time, Nghe An Provincial Post Office will focus on further promoting business, improving business efficiency, developing new services to offset costs for public activities, especially for 2014, the first year of ending the State's public subsidy. Nghe An Post Office determines to continue to closely follow the development orientation of Vietnam Post Corporation and the socio-economic goals of the province, to gain more attention and direction from provincial leaders, leaders of the Corporation, and the support of departments, branches, and localities to continue to mobilize and effectively use resources, expand business services, and continue to improve service quality.
