Endocrinology Hospital: Striving to improve the mission of taking care of people's health
(Baonghean) - Nghe An Endocrinology Hospital was established 5 years ago (2009 - 2014), with its predecessor being Nghe Tinh Endocrinology Station (established on November 14, 1977). After nearly 38 years of construction, development and growth, the unit has gone through 4 stages of consistently implementing the functions and tasks of advising the Director of the Department of Health and directly organizing, implementing and directing the grassroots health sector to prevent and control endocrine diseases, diabetes and metabolic disorders, with 4 different names, namely: Nghe Tinh Endocrinology Station (1977 - 1990); Nghe An Goiter Prevention Station (1991 - August 2002); Nghe An Endocrinology Center (August 2002 - December 2008) and Nghe An Endocrinology Hospital.
Meritorious Physician, Doctor CKI Nguyen Van Hoan - Director of Nghe An Endocrinology Hospital said that after more than 5 years of upgrading to a hospital, the process of building the hospital has gone through many difficulties and challenges; but with the efforts to overcome difficulties, with the solidarity and determination to build the unit of the staff, doctors and nurses, along with the attention, help and creation of all favorable conditions of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the health sector and related departments and branches, the Endocrinology Hospital has gradually overcome difficulties and challenges to excellently complete the assigned political tasks.

Firstly, the hospital has implemented a suitable human resource training strategy by sending each training group to train according to the requirements of each field's professional tasks. On the other hand, it has sought the help of central hospitals (Endocrinology Hospital, Viet Duc Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital and Hanoi Medical University) in training human resources and transferring techniques... In the past 5 years, Nghe An Endocrinology Hospital has trained enough human resources to establish 4 key and important clinical and paraclinical departments of the specialized hospital.
The Department of Emergency Resuscitation is a condition to ensure that doctors in other clinical departments confidently apply advanced techniques and new techniques to treat patients; the Department of General Surgery has applied the ultrasonic knife system to treat most cases of goiter for patients in the province and the region without having to transfer to the Central level as before; the Department of Diagnostic Imaging helps clinical departments have the conditions to diagnose more accurately as well as treat difficult cases effectively. The hospital has also trained enough human resources to establish the Department of Pathology in 2015. Currently, the hospital has 126 staff, including 3 functional departments and 9 specialized departments, namely: General Administration Department; Department of Line Command, Planning and Training; Nursing Department; Department of Emergency Resuscitation; Department of General Endocrinology; Department of Diabetes; Department of General Surgery; Department of Outpatient Examination and Treatment; Department of Laboratory; Department of Diagnostic Imaging; Department of Pharmacy - Medical Supplies; Department of Nutrition. Although the staffing quota is still lacking compared to the requirements, the hospital has deployed and successfully completed both key political tasks at the same time, which are: directly deploying and directing other medical units in the whole province to implement the target programs "Preventing Diabetes and sustainably maintaining the results of PCCRLTI in the whole province"; worthy of being the final hospital in the examination and treatment of endocrine and metabolic disorders in the province.
Second, the hospital is one of the pioneers in implementing administrative reforms in medical examination and treatment in accordance with the policies of the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health. Although the number of patients coming for examination and treatment every day is always overloaded compared to the infrastructure, along with promoting administrative reform, the hospital has applied information technology management using LAN since its inception, so it has met the requirements of releasing patients early, without having to wait long. Currently, the longest waiting time for a patient coming to the hospital for examination is not more than 4 hours (average 3 hours), but the quality of consultation and treatment effectiveness are good. Entering 2015, in order to continue to better manage medical examination and treatment throughout the hospital, the hospital has been implementing barcode testing management and electronic card outpatient management.
Third, the hospital is active in scientific research activities, which is shown by the average number of scientific research topics each year that the hospital has at least 10 scientific research topics of practical value, helping the hospital's clinical treatment and line management work to achieve increasingly high quality and efficiency, contributing to enhancing the reputation of patients and colleagues.
Fourth, the spirit of dedication to patients and the improvement of medical ethics of the medical team of Nghe An Endocrinology Hospital has truly brought satisfaction to patients, and this is also one of the important factors contributing to the success of the Endocrinology Hospital in recent years in the work of examination, treatment and health care for the people.
Having gone through countless difficulties and challenges from the beginning until now, but no matter what stage the collective leadership, doctors, officers and employees of Nghe An Endocrinology Hospital have marked successes. With excellent results throughout the journey of formation and development, the unit has been recognized by all levels and sectors from the province to the Central and awarded many certificates of merit, excellent emulation flags by the Provincial People's Committee, the Ministry of Health, the Government, the Third Class Labor Medal (2009) and especially in 2014, the 5th anniversary of its establishment, Nghe An Endocrinology Hospital was once again honored to receive the noble award of the State, which is the Second Class Labor Medal. This is a joy, a pride, a great source of encouragement for the collective of officers and employees in the entire hospital to continue to strive, determined to excellently complete all assigned tasks, making an important contribution to the cause of caring for and protecting the health of people in the province and the region.
