FIFA Rankings: Vietnam Team Up 6 Ranks, Closely Following Thailand
According to the latest announcement of the World Football Federation (FIFA), the Vietnamese men's football team has increased 6 places in the rankings compared to September. Accordingly, coach Phan Thanh Hung's team is currently ranked 140.
This achievement is largely thanks to two impressive friendly matches of the Vietnam team against Malaysia (won 2-0) and Indonesia (drawn 0-0).

Meanwhile, Vietnam's arch-rival, Thailand, also showed a worrying decline, falling 8 places and ranking 139th.
The reigning world champions Spain are still leading the rankings. With an impressive series of matches in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, Argentina has risen 3 places to 4th place. Meanwhile, England has dropped 2 places to 5th place.
The host country of the 2014 World Cup, Brazil, despite making a strong impression in the friendly matches, still dropped 2 places to 14th place.
