Event progress

On May 30, 2025, Facebook account "Jonny Lieu" posted a complaint claiming that CP Vietnam had brought substandard pork and poultry to the market through the Fresh Shop in My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province. This information quickly spread on social networks, causing a stir in public opinion.

Some images of pigs with abnormal signs were also posted, said to have been recorded at 2:30 a.m. on March 26, 2022. Mr. Nguyen Chi Cuong, representative of the relevant slaughterhouse, confirmed that the images were taken at his facility. According to Mr. Cuong, the imported pigs had full quarantine papers, but during the slaughtering process, one pig showed abnormal signs, so it was reported to CP Vietnam for destruction according to the procedure.

The Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (C05 - Ministry of Public Security) has directed the Hau Giang and Soc Trang Provincial Police to coordinate with inter-sectoral agencies to conduct the investigation.
