Truong was welcomed home by a representative of the local government to Dien Chau district police station.

At the station, the boy said his name was Nguyen Duy Truong (born in 2002), residing in Hamlet 2, Trung Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh, Nghe An). He and his twin brother Nguyen Duy Quang left home on December 1. After leaving home, Truong and Quang cycled to Yen Thanh town to play with friends and then followed Highway 538 to Dien Chau district. Two days ago, the two brothers lost the bicycle they were carrying.

Afraid of being scolded by his grandparents, Truong did not dare to return home. Truong himself did not know where his younger brother was at the moment.

Immediately after learning about Truong's hometown, Dien Chau traffic police officers called the leaders of Trung Thanh commune. Mr. Nguyen Duc Le - Chief of Trung Thanh commune police confirmed that Nguyen Duy Truong and his twin brother had left home for many days. Upon receiving the news that afternoon, Mr. Le and the Vice Chairman of Trung Thanh commune came to pick him up and hand him over to his family. Also according to Mr. Le, in the morning of the same day, a resident of Dien Yen commune discovered Nguyen Duy Quang lying on the edge of National Highway 48 through Dien Yen commune.

It is known that Truong and Quang are the children of Nguyen Duy Chien and Ha Thi Thieu in Hamlet 2, Trung Thanh Commune. Currently, Chien is working as a worker in Thanh Hoa Province and Thieu is working as a maid in Hanoi. Truong and Quang, along with two other siblings, live with their grandparents.
