This girl is from District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, temporarily residing at 125 Truc Bach Street, Hanoi.
On February 15, the girl left Noi Bai airport to visit relatives living in London (UK). Three days later, she traveled from London to Milan, Lombardy province, Italy, for tourism. At this time, Lombardy province had not recorded any Covid-19 outbreak.
On February 20, she returned to London, 5 days later from London to Paris (France) for a day trip and met her sister there. On February 29, she had a cough but did not go to the doctor. On March 1, she had more body aches and pains, an unknown fever, and that day she took flight VN0054 of Vietnam Airlines back to Vietnam, landing at Noi Bai airport at 4:30 a.m. on March 2. At that time, the patient did not have a fever.

On March 2, the patient had a mild fever and coughed a lot. On March 5, the patient went to Hong Ngoc General Hospital for examination, then was transferred to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Kim Chung facility. The test result was positive for nCoV. The patient is being isolated and monitored for health.
The driver and 5 housekeepers of the patient's family are also quarantined at the Tropical Hospital. 17 doctors and nurses of Hong Ngoc Hospital who came into contact with the patient are being quarantined at Hong Ngoc Hospital.
The area around the patient’s house on Truc Bach Street was sprayed with disinfectant by local health authorities. Houses from 125 to 139 Truc Bach Street were quarantined on site. It is not yet clear how many people in this area have to be quarantined.
Crew members of flight VN0054 were also quarantined.
Vietnam has transferred all information related to the patient's journey to the British and French diplomatic agencies.
The 17th case broke the 22-day streak in which Vietnam recorded no new cases of nCoV infection, except for 16 people who have recovered.
As of 6 p.m. on March 6, Vietnam had quarantined 23,228 people in centralized or home settings, an increase of nearly 9,000 compared to yesterday, and 101 suspected cases were quarantined in hospitals.
